Considering a career in vision therapy?

If you’re a new grad OD, allow me to help you visualize your opportunities!

Whether you are considering opening cold, bringing a vision therapy to an existing primary care office, or trying to join an established vision therapy office, COVD is here to help lead you on the right path!

The #1 way to to prepare for your career in vision therapy is networking, networking, networking! No, that’s not an after-image–it’s me driving home the fact that when you attend the COVD 2019 Annual Meeting, you’ll find a plethora of practice opportunities with docs from around the world! The night of Thursday, April 11th will be the highlight of your week with the Student/Resident/Doctor Mixer: here, meet established VT ODs who are looking for the newest addition to their team–YOU! Plus, it’s FREE for students and residents!

Maybe you’re considering starting your VT career by opening a practice cold? Or considering bringing VT to an established practice and need a few tips? Don’t miss the VisionHelp Roundtable on Friday, April 12 during the morning break. Drs. Neil Draisin, Gary Etting, Dan Fortenbacher, Leonard Press, and Barry Tannen will all be in attendance and ready to share their wisdom. Enjoy an hour of casual discussions and opportunities to ask questions about starting a practice, managing a practice, negotiating to join a practice, how much you should be paid, what to look for when joining a practice, etc. Bring any question you may have as you get started and develop in your career as an OD!

The COVD 2019 Annual Meeting has courses for everyone to learn about jump-starting a career in vision therapy! Don’t forget to mark your calendar for April 9th-13th! Students and resident looking to decrease costs can book their hotel through the orange button on the COVD 2019 page, as well as find a roommate in the Student/Resident Facebook group.

Can’t make it to the Annual Meeting, but still want to learn about job opportunities at an existing VT practice? No problem! Explore the COVD Practice Opportunities Page for job listings by city–it’s one of your perks as a member of COVD!

Good luck in your job hunt and I hope to see you this April in Kansas City, Missouri!
